Carbon Fiber Reinforced PLA is a stiff material and makes parts that are very solid. It is great for printing high-strength mechanical parts. Increased rigidity from the carbon fiber means increased structural support but decreased flexibility, making it ideal material for frames, supports, propellers, tools… anything not expected (or desired) to bend. It is particularly loved by drone builders and RC hobbyists. The carbon fibers are processed to an optimum size: short enough to print in PLA without clogging nozzles, but long enough to provide the added rigidity carbon fiber is famous for.
Description
Carbon Fiber Reinforced PLA has excellent layer adhesion and low warpage. We have had excellent results printing at 190C-230C using our 3D printer, Altair. Carbon Fiber Reinforced PLA does not require a heated bed and prints much like unreinforced PLA filament. It is slightly more brittle then regular PLA. When printed, this material is a dark glossy black that glitters slightly in direct light.
• 1.75 mm filament
• 500g Spool
*This filament is more abrasive than standard PLA. Prolonged use may result in more wear on your 3D printer or nozzle so we suggest you upgrade to a wear-resistant nozzle for less maintenance.
